Barrio Africa

The mission here centers around a nurse named Blanca who attends to 19 families with chronic illnesses or physical disabilities. She cares for individuals who are bedridden because of cancer, neurological illness, or other disabilities. She provides special foods with additional nutrition, medical supplies, and family support to those in need.

Two local women recently shared with Aliento Cuba how the mission at Barrio Africa has helped them.  One of the women brought her son to the Sunday service.  The other has a child with immune-deficiency who cannot leave the house.  The nurse from Barrio Africa provides respite in addition to food and medical supplies.
